Adventure through the Sahara desert by riding a camel over the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Watch the Saharan sunset on the back of your camel, climb the dunes and meditate for hours, listen to the silence. Dine under millions of stars, enjoy the native drums party around the campfire, and sleep in a nomad Tent at Mustapha Camp Merzouga.
Don’t be intimidated! No experience is needed to take advantage of this unique desert adventure – just determination. It’s a heart-pumping workout and amazing fun – running up the dunes and surfing your way down. The fine desert sand makes the perfect “wave” – and a great cushion for your landing.
Quads and Buggies are a great alternative to 4×4 and Camels for exploring the Erg Chebbi Dunes and Off Road tracks around the Sahara Desert near Merzouga Merzouga desert Quad driving – You can rent a quad and ride yourself on the dunes and in the region. We can provide you with guidance and tips that will make your quad adventure even more fun.
Our driver guide will pick you up at 8 a.m from your riad or hotel in Merzouga or Erfoud. Traveling with 4×4 along one of the stages 210 km !! the famous and unforgettable race “Paris-Dakar Rally” crossing, parallel to the border with Algeria, the desert with sand, dry lakes, and vast open plains where we will meet the life of the nomadic people.
On our way, we will visit the village of Khamlia, a Moroccan village, inhabited by people from Mali. The visit aims to attend their performance on their special way of music, Gnawa.
After this performance we visit the Oasis of Merzouga which preserves an old system of irrigation, and then orientation to Rissani to explore ancient Ksours and Kasbahs. After a local and typical lunch, we drive back to the hotel around 4:00 p.m.
